If you ever get the chance to see this airplane, one thing you will be told often is that this airframe flew 15 combat missions over Italy in November and December of 1944. Combat veterans are something of a rarity among surviving WWII aircraft, so of course that makes this airplane really cool; but what I want to know is, did the people who used it as a cropduster in the early 1960s know about its combat history? (Side note: hearing a B-17 take off just prior to this picture was really cool, but hearing this guy take off was amazing!)
