This B-17 was built in March, 1945. It was assigned to the Pacific Theater and began the trek out there, but it didn't make it before the war ended. After the war it was used for various purposes including photo-mapping, air-sea rescue, and firefighting, but its most notable excursion was its participation in the Operation Greenhouse nuclear weapons tests. She now flies as "Sentimental Journey" with the Commemorative Air Force, providing a fantastic opportunity to teach people all over the United States about the B-17's amazing WWII history.
