If you are looking for photos of a specific aircraft type, use this menu. Please note that, due to space constraints, this menu includes only some of the more requested aircraft in our database.
If the aircraft you're searching for is not in this list, use the 'Keywords' field further down in the search menus.
Some menu selections include a generic aircraft model, as well as more specific variants of that airliner.
These variants are denoted by a - before the aircraft name.
Selecting 'Boeing 747,' for example, will show results featuring all Boeing 747 jetliners in our database, while selecting '- Boeing 747-200' will show all Boeing 747-200 variants in our database (Boeing 747-200, Boeing 747-212B, Boeing 747-283F, etc.)
If you are looking for photos of a specific airline, use this menu.
Please note that, due to space constraints, this menu includes only airlines of which 10 or more photos exist in our database.
If the airline you're searching for is not in this list, use the 'Keywords' field further down in the search menu.
Airlines are listed in alphabetical order.
If you are looking for photos taken in a specific country, or at a specific airport, use this menu.
All countries represented in our database are included in this selection menu, which is updated automatically as the database grows.
There must be at least 20 photos from a specific airport in the database before that airport is added to this list.
Use this option to include only photos taken by a specific photographer in your search.
This pulldown menu, in addition to each photographer available as a search limiter, also shows the number of photos currently in the database for each specific photographer, enclosed in brackets.
For example, an option of: - Paul Jones .. indicates that there are 550 total photos taken by Paul Jones currently in the database.
Note: The total number of photos, enclosed in brackets, is updated four (4) times hourly, and may be slightly inaccurate.
Photographers must have 100 or more photos in the database before their name is included in this selection menu.. The 'All Photographers' selection is the default selection for this option.
If you are looking for a specific category of photo, use this menu.
You may select to display only photos from certain categories, such as Special Paintschemes, Flight Deck photos, etc. New categories are constantly being added to this list.
The 'Keywords' field is perhaps the most useful field included in our search engine. Using this field, you may search for any word, term, or combinations of terms in our database. Every photo field is covered by the Keywords search routine.
The Keywords field is ideal for searching for such specifics as aircraft registrations, photographers' names, specific airport/city names, specific paintschemes (i.e. 'Wunala Dreaming'), etc. To use the Keywords field, begin by selecting a Keyworld search field. You may select either a specific database field (airline, aircraft, etc.), or choose to match your keyword to all database fields.
Next, select a Keyword limiter. There are three options from which to choose: - is exactly - starts with - contains Select the appropriate limiter for your search, then enter the keyword(s) you wish to search in the box on the right.
The Keywords search field is not case-sensitive.
Use this option to include only photos taken in a specific year in your search.
This pulldown menu, in addition to each year available as a search limiter, also shows the number of photos currently in the database for each specific year, enclosed in brackets. For example, an option of: - 2003 .. indicates that there are 55,000 total photos taken in the year 2003 currently in the database. *Note: The total number of photos, enclosed in brackets, is updated four (4) times hourly, and may be slightly inaccurate.
Additionally, decade ranges (1990-1999, etc.) are available as selections in this menu. Selecting a decade range will show all photos matching your other search criteria from the selected decade. The 'All Years' selection is the default selection for this option.
Note: Certainly a 'wow!' moment for us spotters! N498MC, which must have been literally empty, used barely a third of the runway on its takeoff roll, and is seen here climbing fast and hard into the skies of Hong Kong. (1024px)
Note: It was surprising to see nearly half of as many American widebodies as there were BA widebodies during my spotting session at Heathrow. Unfortunately the only variety that I got were 777-200s and -300ERs. No sign of their 767s or...
Note: A rather exotic and special airline for spotters like me who come from the Far-East. 9K-AOA coming into Heathrow after a hop across the Atlantic. Kuwait Airlines currently utilizes 777-200ERs on the KWI-LHR-JFK route. (1024px)
Note: Very lucky to have gotten this one. According to the locals, this flight usually uses rwy 16, like the rest of the widebodies, and only occasionally uses rwy 28 when the load is light. When the pilots requested for 28 on delivery, everyone...
Note: Another one of my targets in ZRH. Was worried at first because she was nowhere to be seen on the stands where the RJs usually park, but suddenly she appeared behind the terminal building and that put a smile on my face! (1024px)
Note: As nice as the -8s are, I have to say I fancy the 787-9s more. A longer fuselage makes the wing-to-fuselage ratio look better. This version of the Dreamliner just looks a bit weird with a short body and wide wings. But nonetheless, still...
Note: With the introduction of the 777-300ERs into the Swiss fleet starting from Spring 2016, these "hairdryers" will be joining those already decommissioned in the deserts of USA. These guys will surely be missed! (1024px)
Note: Although equally British when compared to the loads of BA's A320 family birds, this one saw more lenses pointed at her as she came to land. Will never be as good as the 747, but still pretty good looking! (1024px)
Note: One of my targets for this Europe trip; PH-KZD on finals for 27L. Unfortunately LHR only has 1 KLM Cityhopper F70 flight nowadays, as the E190s have taken over the rest. Oh how I wish these things came to HKG! (1024px)
Note: When this beauty came, all the local spotters just took one or two shots and continued tapping on their smartphones or chatting. I was the only one who took multiple shots of this beauty. Oh how I wish these came to HKG! (1024px)
Note: Virgin Atlantic's Little Red service arriving in the Golden Hour at London Heathrow. These services, operated to and from London, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, are operated by Irish carrier Aer Lingus. (1024px)
Note: During President Obama's visit to Los Angeles, 2 C-17s were sent together with Air Force One, to carry auxiliary equipment in preparation for the event. AMC Charleston is seen here on a very early (and forced) steep rotation out of LAX. ...
Note: This color scheme is soon to disappear from all ex-US Airways aircraft, as the AA group begins to repaint all the aircraft in the pre-merger US Airways livery. Seen here is N520UW encountering a bit of crosswind before touchdown. (1024px)
Note: Shortly after meal service onboard HX252 from Hong Kong to Taipei, I was able to take a few shots of the cabin without everyone standing up and fumbling with baggage. I would say that although HK Airlines' reputation isn't that good,...
Note: Taken prior to descent into Taipei. Unfortunately due to the maintenance going on at Taipei, there is only 1 runway left in operation meaning that the holding times are pretty long for all departing and arriving aircraft. In my case flight...
Note: A steep rotation for Eastar Jet 737-800, bound for Chongqing. Korea has seen the bloom of new style low cost carriers, which aren't true budget carriers due to their high ticket prices and inflight services. (1024px)
