Dassault Mystere IVa version marked the first "supersonic-in-a-dive" aircraft type in Indian Air Force fleet. These were inducted in the year 1957 and served till 1973. A total of 104 Mystere IVa were supplied to IAF. During the 1965 Indo-Pak war Mystère IVs destroyed Pakistani aircraft on the ground including four F-86F, three F-104 and 2 Lockheed C-130 Hercules transports. Mystere also took an active part in 1971 Indo-Pak war.
