A very rare low res 1964 photo of the RAAF's second (and oldest) Caribou aircraft (Callsign VM-JMB), which was Delivered to 38 Squadron, Richmond, in March 1964. The new aircraft was displayed at the 1964 RAAF Laverton Airshow, one month after the RAAF Transport Flight Vietnam (RTFV, later 35 Sqn) became the First RAAF Unit deployed to Vietnam on 08Aug1964. A4-140 is a Vietnam Veteran, having served with 35 Squadron in Vietnam from November 1968 to June 1971. This aircraft is still in Service, with 38 Squadron (Amberley), in 2009. On Retirement in 2009/10, A4-140 will be donated to the Australian War Memorial (AWM). Apologies for the quality of this 45 year old photo.
