Rare low-res Wing View from Lufthansa's Second Boeing 747 - D-ABYB - at Kai Tak VHHH on 06Feb1974. A Cathay Pacific Boeing 707-351C (VR-HG*) is unloading passengers, and A Swissair DC-8 tail is visible at rear. (Note the Trolley-Bus for departing passengers.) Lufthansa Boeing 747-130 D-ABYB took me to Hong Kong from Frankfurt, via Athens, Kuwait, Delhi and Bangkok. D-ABYB (City of Hessen, Cn 19747, Del: 13Apr1970) was the first civil Boeing 747 to crash - on 20Nov1974 at Nairobi Airport Kenya, sadly with the loss of 59 lives (RIP). Apologies for the low quality of this 1974 photo.
