Flown over from Canada to join the Strathallan collection, unfortunately, this Lancaster was very badly damaged when a hangar roof collapsed onto it at Woodford in 1987-where it had gone after the break up of the Strathallan collection

A very old photograph and of a very rare aircraft-a Comet 2; there aren't many of these left, if any, as this one was sadly broken up in later years, after the closure of the Strathallan collection, of which this aircraft was part

From my collection-not taken by me, but given to me some years ago by a former work colleague, whose uncle took the photo not long after the war, whilst serving in the RAF "somewhere in southern France
