Notes:

Officially established in 1941, this airport has seen continuous growth and development throughout the many years as it's played a vital role in serving the Western Maryland area, as well as other areas along the East. Through its long historical journey and timeline, the airport has made many advancements such as having commuter services to Baltimore, Ocean City, and Pittsburgh in the 1970s, as well as hosting operations from the Maryland State Police Aviation Command since 1982 and into today. Currently the airport hosts exciting autocross activities, a glider club, a flight school, the EAA Chapter 426 monthly breakfast fly-in events and much more, all while being surrounded by the scenic beauty of the Potomac Highlands area. Very soon in the near future as of this date, they will have a newly constructed longer runway, a newer system of taxiways, and a business park.

Another note from myself: I wanted to include this in the image description but felt it would get too long. Notice the two rectangular patches of grass in the bottom left side of the photo? this is actually another airport. 1W3 - Mexico Farms Airport. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexico_Farms_Airport
