[1920px] This mighty Caravan was my ride from Fortaleza to Sobral on this day, a very fun experience! Having just arrived, she's parked up at the apron of the brand new airport of Sobral city (ICAO code SN6L, IATA code JSO), which replaced the old one (ICAO code SNOB). Sobral is an important city in Ceará state, and a bigger airport was much needed. The construction of this new airport was finished in 2022 and it was cleared for regular operations in January 2023. With a single 1800m x 30m runway, this new facility surely is much better than the previous one. Sadly, it is also located quite far from the city. So far, only Azul Conecta have regular flights here, using the Cessna Grand Caravan. This airport can handle up to ATR 72 or even Embraer E-Jets, so it would be good to see Azul deploying these here in a near future.
