This photo took a lot of planning. I ventured far out into rural Yolo County to capture this airplane crossing the rising Moon while they are still at higher altitude, on approach to 16R. This is the infamous DC-10 involved in the FedEx 705 near-hijacking in 1994. To stop the hijacker, the crew put this airplane into maneuvers way outside the capabilities designed. The airframe and the crew survived.
