After about 2 decades of desire for Alaska Airlines to begin scheduled passenger service at PAE, the dream became a reality in March 2019 when both United (operated by SkyWest) and Alaska (operated by SkyWest and Horizon Air) began services to several destinations across the Western United States with EMB-175s. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, many of the routes were suspended, but some routes like PSP where this aircraft is headed have remained.
