Here we are, watching flight KL643 climbing out rwy 24 gracefully. This is one of the last KLM 747 flights to JFK. Recently KLM announced to withdraw all passenger 747 by the end of March 2020 instead of May 2021. Suddenly only two more weeks away from never seeing this beautiful aircraft again, growing up as a huge aviation enthusiast and aircraft photographer here in Amsterdam, the feeling that this sight will be gone for good is surreal. Ironically, the KLM Cargo 747's in the background will carry on for a few more years. Unfortunately to the passenger 747's we have to say goodbye.. [1920 pix]
