Notes:

[1200px] A Russian beauty is seen here diving on short finals to runway 13! This IL-76 arrived from Douala as "VDA8307" at 08h in the morning, to pick up parts of an ex-Lufthansa 737-200 stored here in Fortaleza. This 737, known as Landshut, was involved in the hijacking of flight LH181 back in 1977. The plane was just ferried from Brazil to Germany, so it could be restored and displayed in a museum in Friedrichshafen. An Antonov An-124 airlifted the fuselage, wings and vertical stabilizer of the 737, while the Ilyushin hauled smaller parts. The IL-76 is surely a stunning machine! Too bad this one is the upgraded version, with PS-90 engines instead of the amazing and noisy Soloviev ones. Anyway, always nice to see Russian heavy metal beauties here.
