Brand new RWY 09/27 of Chisinau International Airport. The shot had been taken at the inaguration ceremony an hour before the Air Moldova E190 (ER-ECB) performed first take off and first landing on a new strip. You may notice there are no tyre marks on the concrete yet. For a long period of time RWY 09/27 was used as a TWY D while the newer and longer RWY 08/26 was used for take off and landing operations. But now after reparation new "old" RWY 09/27 will get all the arriving and departing traffic of KIV/LUKK for the period of modernization and construction works on the main RWY 08/26 which are planned to start in 2019.
