At least a dozen aircraft were Diverted from Sydney during the evening of Sunday 19Feb2017 - Polar Air Cargo B747-46NF(SCD) N451PA Cn 30809 was Diverted to Canberra YSCB, arriving about 2030 hrs. Close-cropped front Stbd view of the aircraft parked on the former RAAF Fairbairn apron at 0947 hrs, on 20Feb2017. The Crew was getting some ‘Crew Rest’ in Canberra at the time. The aircraft departed for Sydney at 1215 hrs Monday and finally arrived at YSSY (Sunday’s intended destination) 30 mins later (arriving 16 hours late). Crew Rest requirements (and Sydney’s overnight Curfew) prevented an earlier recovery to YSSY. Thanks to Steve Veigel for Diversion Details.
