Close-cropped rear view of Chance Vought F4U-5N Corsair VH-III Cn A10-353 parked at Cowra YCWR NSW on Friday 17Oct2014. The owner, Graham Hosking, was ferrying the newly restored aircraft from Darwin to Tyabb Victoria. (Note twin ferry tanks under fuselage.) Unfortunately, this aircraft did a ‘wheels-up’ landing at Maitland Airport YMND on 28Jan2017. The pilot was unhurt, but the aircraft sustained bent propeller blades and scraped flaps. This ex Honduras Air Force Corsair (FAH-608) – the First Corsair on the Australian Register - was Built in 1951 and was First Registered in Australia on 14Feb2013. It is fitted with a P&W R2800-32(E) radial engine.
