Close cropped Port side view of the front end of Beech C-45 Expeditor / Beechcraft 18 VH-BHS Cn CA-198 at Maitland YMND NSW on 29Jan2017. (Australian Registration VH-BHS Reserved.) The converted C-45 aircraft was on static display during the 2017 Hunter Valley Airshow. Rain clouds are building at rear. This aircraft was built in 1952 for the RCAF as a Beech C-45-3TM and used as VIP transport for over 20 years. Converted to a Freighter (US Regn: N6127) until confiscated for drug running in Florida in the mid-1980s. Flown across the Pacific to Australia in late 1990s. This aircraft has made a number of film appearances, including the re-make of ‘South Pacific’. [Ref: Owner’s display board.] This aircraft’s First post-restoration test-flight was flown from Maitland by Paul Bennet on 09Jul2017. The aircraft is listed to appear at Evans Head 07-08Jan2018 for the Annual Great Eastern Fly-In.
