'This former Imperial Japanese Army Air Service Ki-43 Hayabusa Oscar was Built by Nakajima at Ota Japan during November 1942. (Ident was: Uncoded Serial Number 650, Construction Number 750.) Assigned to the Japanese Army Air Force (JAAF). Assigned to the 11th Sentai on Truk Island, and then to Rabaul in New Guinea. (No known markings or tail code.) In 1962 sold to Mr Sid Marshall who stored it in his hanger at Bankstown Airfield NSW. By 1996, the Oscar was externally restored and capable of taxing on the ground. At the 1996 Warbirds over Wanaka Air Show, the Oscar taxied for the first time since 1945. Registered in New Zealand as ZK-OSC.’ (Ref: Wikipedia).
