As the VFA-34 "Blue Blasters" CAG bird blasts down 31R on its takeoff roll, NE-106 from VFA-2 "Fighting Two" holds short awaiting clearance to line up and takeoff for its training mission. Note the optical landing system (OLS) aka "the ball" under NE-106's tail. Not a bad way to spend a birthday either!
