The VJ-101 C was developed for the German Ministry of Defense as an all-weather interceptor. It was to be capable of vertical take-off and landing. Characteristic for the VJ-101 C were the rotatable engines at the wingtips and the integrated pulsejet engine behind the cockpit. The test program was cancelled in 1971 since military plans had changed.
