The Securite Civile operates a fleet of nine turbine-conversion Trackers for fire fighting from its base at Marseille Provence, with additional dispersal airfields at Carcassonne and Bastia. The turbine conversions, undertaken by Conair in Canada, save weight over the original radials and permit carriage of extra large tanks of retardant. The service also operates Dash 8s and Canadair 215s in the role. This example is seen here at an RAF Northolt night photocall.
