'Easy 73SV' backtracks runway 06 prior to departure to Barcelona. Today is a day that will remain in the history of London Southend Airport as Easyjet commenced operations to 9 destinations. The airport has experienced £75million of investment over the past 18 months including a new Terminal, Train Station, Control Tower, Extended runway and many other improvements. Ironically, the main stumbling block of the development for many years is sat in the background of this image. With 11 destinations currently served and Geneva already confirmed to commence in the Winter, Southend is bucking the trend of downsizing. Long may this excellent project develop and provide the large local community affordable air travel on our doorsteps. Well done LSA & Stobart's for fulfilling your promises where others failed.
