Notes:

'Retired' Beechcraft 70 Queen Air VH-MWI Cn LB-2 at Tooradin Airfield YTDN on 04Sep2006. When new, the aircraft was Delivered to Masling Airlines in May1969, ex USA (Reg N8070R). VH-MWI was the First Production Beech 70 Queen Air. I flew from Newcastle (YWLM) to Sydney (YSSY) in this aircraft with Masling Airlines three times: on 06Oct1969, 19Feb1970, and 29May1970. (Each trip took 0.5 to 0.6 hours.) An unexpected ‘reunion’ after 36 years, during an ad-hoc visit to Tooradin Airfield.

My grandfather, Alexander Ian McRitchie owned this Queen Air in the 80s and 90s. The family took dozens of trips to Arkaroola in SA, and we once flew to perth and back via Uluru. This was an ex Flying Doctor plane, and provided wonderful memories for my family in the capable hands of RAF Squ. Ldr McRitchie flying out from Moorabin. Lovely to see a pic of such a revered part of our family history. The plane had a dark brown and light brown stripe when i knew her.... looks great with the blue!
