On Semptember 3, 1989, Flight RG 254 took off from Maraba to Belem. By accident a wrong heading was entered into the flight computer, The aircraft had to make a forced landing in the jungle due to fuel exhaustion. The wreckage was located two days later. There were thirteen fatalities and fifty-four survivors.
