- Stockholm Arlanda Airport - ESSA, Sweden
Delivered to SIA as 9V-SQE in 1976 before moving on to Pan Am on 26-06-1984 as N727PA, "Clipper Belle of The Sky", c/n 21162 is now named "Liv" after it's owner's daughter who acquired the aircraft in 2007 to serve as a hostel. Well thought out and organised with comfortable accommodation and utilities, this airframe operated on a capacity of 412 passengers across all cabin classes in it's Pan Am heyday but now serves around 75 people across various cabin classes which include two, three and four bed cabins and a cockpit suite which naturally bears room number 747 and which is often booked by honeymooners. In recent months, just prior to this image, the outside landing gear housings have also been converted into rooms while the front end forward of the first door serves as a general seating area and breakfast room with the bathrooms and wash facilities situated at the rear. Situated just across from the southern taxiway, cargo centre and car hire facilities, a free, regular, bus runs to and from the terminal while Wifi and TV facilities are standard so, if you're interested in aviation and staying at Arlanda, then you'd be very hard pushed to find a better place to stay!
