In 1985 the Austrian Government ordered 24 Saab Draken interceptor aircraft from the Swedish Air Force. Till 2005 the Austrian Air Force was using this type. Austria was the last country to put these classic airfighters out of service. Nowadays, a view of them are stored, including N° 08 ("Ostarrichi" - wearing a special paint scheme for Austria's 1.000-year-celebration in 1996), N° 21 ("Dragon Knights - wearing special colours for the last flight of the Draken) and this one, N° 11, which is stored near Linz-Hoersching Air Base.
