Notes:

The Whole Scene. I've wanted to capture a wide-angle shot of the entire Maho Beach "complex" in SXM for some time, but had never found a decent location. Through some exploration of the older portion of the hotel (and after "unlocking" a few locked doors), I found just what I was looking for. The overwhelming and unique atmosphere of Maho is on display here, as people play in the sand, surf, and sun -- most of them totally oblivious to the Air France A340 landing in the background!

Such a nice shot Chris. First, I love how you came with a new angle for that Jetphoto. I think the composition is lovely, with the diagonal of the beach leading directly to the main subject, here on this website : the airplane. Nevertheless, our eyes can still wander around in that frame you came with, and be pleased by all that surrounding beauty! I'm glad your photo didn't get rejected with the saying "plane not centered in frame" line I sometimes get for actually compositing a picture and not only a jet. This would've been so wrong with your shot. Anyway, I love your picture, and you deserve a lot of credit for it. Many congratulations.

This is such a picturesque setting! The sea, sky, sand, surf, sun , airplanes, beachgoers and last but certainly not the least ...the planespotters who bring us one stunning shot after another of this heaven on earth ! Chris, this pic is unarguably THE most unique SXM shot ever!!!
