Low res view of David Freedman's DH-82A Tiger Moth VH-CXY (First Reg Aust 24Aug1961), at a Point Cook YMPC 'Fly-In' in Dec 1973. The 'Tiger-Schmitt' then had a 76 Sqn Black Panther head as Nose Art, and German Crosses have replaced the previous RAF style Roundel and 'Tri-Color' fin-flash. On 21Feb1970, I flew in VH-CXY during a 9.4 hour 'Ferry Flight' from Canberra YSCB to Parafield YPPF, South Aust. The owner, David Freedman, a 5 Sqn Huey Pilot, had been posted to 9 Sqn Vietnam and couldn't ferry the aircraft himself. Apologies for low quality of this 1973 photo. This aircraft (Cn LES-10) was re-numbered as Cn DHA833 on arrival in Australia and flew as RAAF Serial A17-668. Ref: ADF-Serials.
