After the cancellation of the RIAT flying display, trade visitors were treated to a tour of the static display and the flightline. This 1985 B-1B came from the 7th Bomb Wing at Dyess Air Force Base, Abilene, Texas. US strategic bombers have parked on this flight-line on and off for nearly 60 years. The B-1 is the only aircraft to have flown supersonically on a combination synthetic-petroleum gas, as part of development of a more self-sufficient fuel scource. (400D & Sigma 28-300)
