I read the news and found this picture in my archives. D-AXLA lining up rwy 23 in pouring rain bound for AYT as X3 0184. Only 7 1/2 weeks later this aircraft crashed on November, 27th off the French coast near Perpignan on a pre-acceptance flight. D-AXLA operated for XL Airways Germany on lease from Air New Zealand (the former registration was ZK-OJL, flying in the colours of Freedom Air, a subsidiary of Air New Zealand Group which ceased operations in March 2008) and was to be returned to ANZ. Sadly all 7 people on board lost their lives.
