USN Super Hornet 165894 (Code NF-100, Cn F054) does a spectacular light-weight take-off in full After-Burner at the 2007 Australian International Airshow at Avalon YMAV on 24Mar2007. This Top-side rear view shows the 'Diamondback' pattern on the dorsal spine, the Red tailfins, and the 'Low-Viz' Grey paint scheme. 'Ectoplasm' is forming on the enlarged Wing 'Leading Edge Extensions' (LEXs). This VFA-102 aircraft is usually based on USS Kitty Hawk. The RAAF received 24 Super Hornets from 2010, to fill a capability gap when the F-111s were retired.
