Rare image of TAA F-27-100 Friendship VH-TFE (Cn 10120, Del: Jun 1959, originally named 'Angus McMillan'), taxying at at Moorabbin on 25Feb1962. She was acquired from Holland as PH-FAP. The aircraft was re-named 'Robert Burns', and leased to DCA Mar66-Feb68, Sold to DCA May71, Sold to Air Anglia Aug78, Re-registered G-SPUD Jan79. Unfortunately, this black and white photo does not show the light Day-Glo Orange tail colour. (This F-27 was previously wrongly identified as VH-TFL). Photo taken at the Air Pageant organised by the Royal Victorian Aero Club (RVAC) in conjunction with the Air Force Association (AFA), on 25Feb1962. (This was the only Air Pageant held at Moorabbin between late 1959 and 1965.) Although I rode my bicycle from Dandenong to Moorabbin Airport on 28Sep1964, there was no Air Show that day. Thanks to Rex Hobson, Secretary of the RVAC for confirming the 1962 Air Pageant date from applicable RVAC Committee Minutes.
