Notes:

The Ryan Pt22 Recruit/Stalker was the first monoplane primary trainer designed for the US army air core. The type first flew in 1939 and by the end of production in 1945 1273 where built. The aircraft was and still is famous for being very strong and able to take most of what a student pilot can throw at it. In fact her owner Peter Holloway has another Ryan Pt22 in his garage that was crashed a while back and whilst the fuesalage is like a bananna both occupents survived relatively unhurt. This example was built in 1942 and would have seen service with the US millitary before being retired and passed into private hands. This is one of only 3 on the Uk register, one other is also kept at Old Warden and a third is based in the Netherlands. There are about 85 surviving world wide with the type proving very popular in America.
