From the 'Warbird Registry' - Built at NAA's Kansas City Plant in late 1944 with c/n of 108-34023. Delivered to USAAF as 44-30748 - BOC: Feb. 1945 - SOC: Jan. 1959. Stored at Davis Monthan AFB, Arizona, from Dec. 1958-1959. On May, 19, 1959 it was bought by Ace Smelting Inc. of Phoenix, Arizona. Luckily, it was aquired by the Alson-Niblock Flying Inc. in Elkhart, Indiana in May of 1959 where it was registered as N8195H. From Dec. 1959 to 1963 it was in service of Christler & Avery Aviation in Greybull, Wyoming where it was fitted with an agricultural hopper & spray bars in Jan. 1960. From Aug. 1961-1968 it was owned by Avery Aviation in Greybull, Wyoming and from 1968-1976 Filmways Inc. in Hollywood, California used it for the movies 'Catch 22' as 'M&M' and 'Miss Renee'. Once again it changed hands to Tallmantz Aviation in Orange County, California where it was possibly in 'open storage'. In 1972 Milan S. Pupich of Van Nuys, California restored it to airworthyness and in 1974 it had its 'first flight'. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Doolittle Raid it flew off deck of USS Ranger in San Diego Bay in 1992. The upper gun turret and tail gun assembly were installed in March of 1997 and it was flown with the scheme of 'Heavenly Body' with the markings of the 390th BS, 42nd BG, 13th AF. Here it's seen sailing away in to the wild blue yonder at Aviation Nation 2007.
