Strategic nuclear and conventional bomber (retired). The Vulcan first flew in 1952 and operated from 1957 to 1969 as part of the British nuclear deterrent force, later serving as a conventional bomber. Armed with Blue Steel nuclear missiles and powered by 4 Rolls-Royce Olympus engines. Was used as a conventional bomber during the 1982 Falklands War.
