Developed to meet a joint Franco-German requirement in the late-‘sixties, the Alpha Jet was built in France and in Germany. The Germans apparently favoured a twin-engine design following losses of the single-engined Starfighter. The Alpha replaced the Magister in l’Armee de l’Air and the FIAT G-91 in the Luftwaffe as well as serving with numerous foreign air forces. This one is seen landing after its superb display at RIAT 2007. (400D, Sigma 80-400 & fluid-head tripod)
