Operating from Cerfontaine airfield (EBCF) South of Charleroi airport (Brussels South Charleroi Airport !! - BSCA.) most week-ends in the summer. What a lovely place for aviation enthusiasts : Gliding, Parachuting, Light aircraft flying and of course the beautiful Yakovlevs flying in formation overhead, their radial engines producing such a lovely "music'. What a nice aircraft ! I was in Namen (EBNM) last Monday, Easter Monday 09 April 2007 and this beautiful Yak 52 flew a few times. First an aerobatic solo display with SMOKE and when I say SMOKE I mean really good thick smoke. The pilot turned on the smoke system on take-off and it was really impressive ! We all loved it !!! ;-))) Then after climbing to altitude the airshow started with a flat spin through the smoke. Awesome, Fantastic. Later in the afternoon, "Janie" (the name of this Yakovlev) did a few formation sorties with the other Yak 52 based there including some low passes and breaks but what was most impressive was the perfect formation looping over the airfield ... again with the smoke system turned on. And of course the sound of the 2 radial engines flying overhead. What a lovely afternoon for aviation fans. Thanks to the friendly pilots. They are good airshowman. Bart, one of the flying Dutchman.
