This Gnat is preserved near the control tower in Red Arrows colours and commemorates the fact that Kemble was the base for the Red Arrows during the fifteen year period the team operated the type. This aeroplane actually flew with 4 FTS at RAF Valley rather than the Reds, whose aircraft were very rarely fitted with the long range underwing slipper tanks this aeroplane has.
