This Learjet, operated by GFD along with 10 other models, is used to deploy target drones on up to 6.5km long cables. The drones are used as realistic shooting targets. The length of the cable allows the Learjet to be out of weapon range during live ammunition fire. This aircraft can also be used as radar/radio jamming training plattform or simulate an unidentified intruder into restricted airspace. A civil role is the usage as an flying laboratory as it's interior is removed and can hold several 19" equipment racks.
