AY0088 From GuangZhou (ZGGG) to Helsinki Vantaa (EFHK). After the take off, the landing gear does not retract. After an aborted approch to Beijing, we finally landed to HongKong (VHHH) with an emergency landing. Fortunately none were injured. This picture shows fuel dropping during approch to HongKong

Well, I think the gear problem was not detected immediately after take off, land to Beijing decision was announced 2 hours later, it was then the nearest candidate on the route to Helsinki. Later, the commander said that the weather at Beijing was too bad (cloudy ?). May be the runways configuration helps also at Hong Kong. The Guangzhou - Beijing - Hong Kong trip takes almost 6 hours !
Saw you land in Hong Kong... and have a shot of the plane outside the hangar that evening. Just one question... why try for Beijing.. then go to Hong Kong??
