The 100 series of BAW were fun to watch. When taking off 08 they could not normally do a left hand turn 10- 20 miles out and clear the Coast Mountains. They were forced to do a right hand turn which they would go through 270 degrees to put them on a northward heading and clear the mountains. They would start the turn at ten miles and come back over the airport.
