Finally leaving for home, this F-18 had been stranded at Mildenhall for nearly two weeks. The aircraft, from VMFA 112 "Cowboys" based at NAS Fort Worth, Texas, had been part of an original deployment of four aircraft that had been flying out of Boscombe down before repositioning here for their flight back to the USA. Unfortunately one of the aircraft went u/s, and while two of the Hornets headed home, this "cowboy" and one of his "buddies" were delayed.
