Taxying for take-off, this rare aircraft was a welcome visitor to Mildenhall when it spent twelve days here away from its Johnson Space Centre base in Houston, Texas. It flew various high altitude missions, including cosmic dust sampling. Although much modified and altered over the years, the aircraft is still unmistakably a Canberra, although its performance is greatly enhanced, using only a third of the runway before climbing steeply!! The aircraft was previously 63-13298, a serial that it still carries just forward of the cockpit.
