Thanks for the clear up. I always thought that the crew were getting crazy of the smell those cows produced. Anyway sad that they are gone now from RTM...

After landing the (emergency-) doors were opened to let some cool air into the hold. The calves were stacked two floors high in cattle-pen, and they became heated up with fear and excitement of the flight and all the hassle. So it was more a matter of cooling the calves down rather than driving out the smell.
