El Condor

Spectacular shot of this, one of the last Classic Jumbos still operating in Argentina. The magnificent 747 has been the pride and joy of Aerolíneas Argentinas's fleet for close to 30 years, and since 1976, the Argentine flag carrier has operated a total of 13--10 -200Bs, 1 SP, and 2 -400s--with 2 more of the latter on order. Of the 6 Latin American airlines that have at some point operated the Jumbo, only Aerolíneas and Surinam Airways remain, with most other companies switching to 767/777s and/or A330/A340s instead. Both aircraft augmented the dwindling fleet of -200Bs; 3 of which have been leased out to parent company Air Plus Comet in Spain and sister company Aerolíneas del Sur in Chile, and another of which (LV-OEP) is flying on borrowed time due to a cracked fuselage, leaving Aerolíneas Argentinas with just LV-MLR and LV-OPA for the foreseeable future...
