You're looking at the first jet engine ever to run at 100,000 lbs of thrust. I was on the test stand in E. Hartford the day it happened. Senior P&W management decided that we would beat the GE90 to 100K. We did it, but were rewarded with a failure of the fan exit guide vanes shortly after hitting the historic mark.
