There was a time when the Starlifter fleet was the backbone of the USAF airlift fleet. Those days have gone, with the "new kid on the block", the C-17, rapidly replacing the C-141. There are now less than fifty left in service, the rest have headed to Davis Monthan while a lucky few have ended up in museums. This example belongs to the 445th AW, based at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.
