QF093 is turning from the base leg onto extended finals for a landing back into the west at Los Angeles International, after a long, 15 hour flight from Melbourne, Australia. The Hollywood Hills are in the background. Low cloud gives the impression of being further out.

Hi Dale, Thanks for your comments! Yes I agree the clouds are wonderful, That morning we had very low cloud all over LA. This is why it appears that the aircraft is not on finals. It IS in fact on long final (just completing its turn from the base leg to approach back into the west - we had quite a long final approach leg due to traffic that morning). I can assure you that the photo depicts what I said as my experience as a commercial pilot tells me so! Also can't you see the mountains in the distance? These are the Hollywood hills...or, the eastern part of the mountain range at least. I hope this clarifies things, as I try hard to keep my info as correct as I can. Thanks for your interest! Mike
Awesome clouds but it doesn't look like your turning on finals to me m8 and I can't see any hills either LOL.
