El Condor

I can just imagine the ear-splitting, glass-rattling noise of those low-bypass, soot-emitting JT-8D turbofans! It's hard to believe that they each produce 15,000lbs of thrust, and that despite necessitating a 6,600ft take-off run, the 732 can still climb quite steeply when required. Aeroparque is just such a place, for you need as much height as possible since major air-pockets often beckon over the River Plate. It is, to say the least, pretty alarming to hit one of them on a hot day just seconds after take-off, yet a relief to know that the JT-8Ds will almost certainly save the day!
