On September 29th, 2023 Marine Training Squadron 101 (VMFAT-101) was deactivated and sundowned after an illustrious 54 years of training F-4 and F/A-18 pilots (36 of which were training F/A-18 Pilots). VMFAT-101 played a role in my start to aviation photography, as it was the SharpSHooter hornets that made me take my dad's camera on an April day in 2010 and run down to BOI to get them. It seems we've come full circle. So long SharpSHooters.
